The Program
Imagine spending two years on six continents in more than 50 countries while learning to speak five languages and being immersed in a whole variety of cultures with like-minded students who want to do substantial good in the world.
1st Stop: 5-Week Boot Camp in Scotland
The program begins with your traveling to Edinburgh, Scotland and being introduced to the entire program. From here you will travel to see parts of Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland.
2nd Stop: 14 Weeks in France
Here is where you will get your full immersion into the French language and culture while also taking trips into Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Poland, among other destinations.
3rd Stop: 14 Weeks in South America
After a three-week respite back home, you will fly to Uruguay to be immersed in speaking Spanish and the culture, history, arts, and religious traditions of the peoples of South and Central America. During this time you will spend time in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Costa Rica.
4th Stop: 14 Weeks in India
One of the most populous countries on Earth, India is a wealth of cultural and linguistic diversity and beauty. After another trip back home, you will fly to India to learn the predominant Hindi language and see much of southeastern Asia including Jakarta, Singapore, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, and more. The cultural and religious understanding you will gain from India will be worth it all!
5th Stop: 14 Weeks in China
The rise of China in world significance cannot be underestimated. The importance of knowing this culture and language will be invaluable for future leaders. After another trip home, you will learn the Mandarin tongue and unlock the mysteries and richness of the Chinese culture, religions, history, and art. During this period you will also spend time in neighboring South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and a few weeks in Australia.
6th Stop: 14 Weeks in the Middle East/Africa
The Middle East has so much history, culture, and religious influence all over the world. Here is where you will learn Masric Arabic while experiencing Egypt, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Morocco,The United Arab Emirates, and sub-Saharan Africa.
7th Stop: 14 Weeks in North America
This will be the culmination of all your travels, cultural explorations, and language learning. For the final part of the program you will spend time sifting through all that you have learned with looking deeply into the cultures and religious landscapes of the United States and Canada and tying everything you have experienced in a capstone project, your personal "Grand Life Strategy": a plan for continuing your preparation for a life of doing substantial good in the world.
